José Manuel Albares’ extensive agenda in New York

The acting Minister has centred his participation in the 78th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations on Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the fight against international terrorism and Latin America.

September 22, 2023
During his stay in New York, José Manuel Albares has attended several bilateral meetings and has taken part in traditional General Assembly forums. These included the ministerial meeting in support of the International Criminal Court and the Global Counterterrorism Forum. Furthermore, the head of Spanish diplomacy took part in the Global Economy Forum of the US-Spain Chamber of Commerce and met with both "think tanks" and the press. With all of them he shared all the progress achieved by Spain as it reaches the midpoint of its six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

On the other hand, the traditional Iberian-American Foreign Ministers' breakfast has been an opportunity to listen to the report presented by Andrés Allamand, head of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), and to welcome Ecuador, in its first time acting as Secretary pro tempore.
