The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation is taking part in the 28th Spain-United States Forum, which is being held in Santander, with a speech from the State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs, Diego Martínez Belío.

The State Secretary, who spoke at the opening session, highlighted the strategic links between the United States and Spain in the political, economic and security spheres, with a long-term horizon. He also stressed the importance of scientific and technological cooperation, and the value of Spanish as one of the greatest shared heritages between the two countries.

The Spain-United States Forum, promoted by the Fundación Consejo España–EE.UU. and the United States-Spain Council, seeks to consolidate strategic alliances, generate common ideas and strengthen transatlantic cooperation at a key moment. In this edition, experts, public decision-makers and business representatives from both nations will address in depth three highly relevant global challenges: the transition towards greater energy efficiency, the transformation of transport infrastructures, and the impact and regulation of artificial intelligence.
This forum brings together over a hundred leaders from the public and business sectors, and academia, to reflect on global challenges.
