Óscar Puente visits London

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility met with British authorities, visited the infrastructures of Spanish companies and projects, and participated in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) General Assembly

The Minister met with leading Spanish infrastructure companies with interests in the United Kingdom to discuss investment opportunities. The British Deputy Transport Secretary, Keir Mather, also attended the meeting and praised the professionalism and excellent work of the Spanish companies. Puente also visited the construction site of London's Euston station, a project being carried out by Dragados as part of the HS2 high-speed rail network.​

The Minister also addressed the IMO General Assembly, the United Nations organisation that manages the safety and sustainability of maritime transport, expressing Spain's commitment to multilateralism, the energy transition and maritime safety.

Óscar Puente concluded his London visit by presiding over the reception ​It opens in new windowhosted by the Embassy, coinciding with the IMO elections to its Council. The Minister defended the Spanish candidacy for re-election to the organization's council (group B), which brings together the ten countries with the greatest interests in international maritime trade and whose presidency has been held by Spain for four years.
