The Ambassador learned about the documents on Spain from the prize papers.
The prize papers are works intercepted by British privateers on foreign vessels between the 17th and 19th centuries, amongst which there are documents from Spanish vessels of great historical value, such as those acquired during the Battle of Cape Finisterre.
The collection is being catalogued and digitized, an initiative that the Spanish Embassy is promoting.
