The Political Counsellor, Antonio Casado Rigalt, emphasized the Embassy's commitment to the festival as a demonstration of its support for freedom of creativity and cultural expression. Jorge Gárriz, the festival's Director, reviewed the festival's programme and expressed his satisfaction with the success of the initiative, now in its fifth year.
Following this, the novelist and poet Sara Torres, from Gijón, and the writer Nuria Capdevila-Argüelles, from León and founder of the Cartas Vivas project, discussed queer literature and Sara's work, which, after its success in Spain, has recently been translated into English.
