Ambassador José Pascual Marco welcomed guests and congratulated the high volume of investment between Spain and the United Kingdom. Gonzalo García, Economic and Commercial Counsellor, analysed the challenges of investment and opportunities for collaboration between our countries.
Three panels took place on the challenges and opportunities for venture capital in Spain and the United Kingdom:
- New Business Models for Disruptive Technologies. Moderator: Russ Shaw (Tech London Advocates). Panelists: Itxaso del Palacio (Notion Capital VC) and Elena Corchero (Innovation Strategy Consultant).
- The Challenges of Scaling Up. Moderator: José María Blasco (ICEX). Panelists: Daniella Raffel (Dawn Capital) and Victor Gaspar (Multiverse Computing).
- Corporate Venturing. Moderator: Maija Palmer (Global Corporate Venturing). Panelists: Pablo Moro (Wayra Ventures), Alejandra Otero (ElevenLabs), and Samuel Ackah-Yensu (Salesforce Ventures).
The venture capital ecosystem is growing in Spain thanks to innovation, talent, and access to strategic markets. Complementing this is the United Kingdom, a more mature market for investment. The two countries thus form a powerful partnership with great potential for strategic collaboration.
