The Embassy hosted the annual reception honouring the men and women of our Army

After opening the ceremony with the Spanish and British national anthems, Defense Attaché Rafael Guerra Soler paid tribute to those who lost their lives in service and praised the professionalism and sacrifice of the Spanish Armed Forces, whose commitment to global security has led them to be present on several international missions. The Military Attaché also praised support for Ukraine and spoke of the importance of NATO's strategic vision, concluding with a mention of the military ties between Spain and the United Kingdom.​

For his part, Ambassador Pascual Marco, emphasized that current challenges require collaboration between allied countries. The head of the diplomatic represenation cited some of the 17 international missions in which the Spanish army is present, with more than 3,000 personnel. He also highlighted the long tradition of British-Spanish cooperation, mentioning the frigate Méndez Núñez's participation in the battle group led by HMS Prince of Wales in the Indo-Pacific.

The event concluded with a toast in honour of the British and Spanish monarchs.
