The certification of a copy of a document guarantees that the original document has been compared with its copy, verifying the identity of its contents.
The certification of copies of documents that accompany the applications, writings and communications presented to this Consular Office is free of charge. Once the certification has been carried out, the original document will be returned to the citizen and the copy will be attached to the written request and communication for sending to the destination body.
The certification of copies of documents that do not accompany applications, writings or communications presented to this Consular Office entails the payment of a fee.
Only copies of Spanish documents or foreign documents that must be presented to the Spanish authorities will be required.
Procedure
To certify the copy of a document, it is necessary to provide both the original document and a complete and legible copy of it. Partial copies of a document will not be accepted.
The documents can be delivered personally, by courier or through a duly authorized third party, but in all cases it is necessary to request an appointment with the Legalization Department of the Embassy.
The certification process is carried out overnight and the fees are AED 13 per document.
