On the occasion of the International Day of Multilateralism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms its commitment to the Charter of the United Nations

On that date, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its support for:

• The principles of the Charter of the United Nations in all contexts, from Ukraine to Gaza
• Adequate financing for the United Nations and international organizations: the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the World Food Programme, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), among others
• The International Criminal Court (ICC)

Furthermore, as a part of its commitment to multilateralism, Spain hosts within its territory:

• The headquarters of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)
• The United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT)
• The United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe
• An office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNPD)

Moreover, among other specific initiatives, our country promotes:

• Human rights, as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the period 2025–2027
• The Third National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security
• The Multilateral Sustainable Development Policy Strategy​
  
• The Fifth Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy, to be held on 2 and 3 June 2026

Our country, a multilateral actor committed to diplomacy, peace and human rights, promotes the collectively determined rules that facilitate sustainable and effective cooperation.
