Minister Albares and Secretary of State Blinken were able to address matters where both administrations share approaches and values, such as the defence of the rights of LGTBIQ people in the world, the defence of multilateralism and the fight against disinformation. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the two ministers on this matter.

With regard to the situation in Gaza, Minister Albares and Secretary Blinken once again called for an immediate ceasefire and the immediate release of Israeli hostages, while Minister Albares pleaded for the recognition of the Palestinian State as the best way to render the two-State solution viable and to guarantee Israel's security.

Both ministers agreed on the need to keep working towards the stabilitisation of Haiti and in the Sahel.
