In conversation with Diego López Garrido, director of the Fundación Alternativas, the Minister highlighted some of the milestones during the six-month period, such as the European Union-CELAC Summit or the Net-Zero Industry Act, as well as the major agreements for the future of the Union, such as the reform of the electricity market, the Pact on Migration and Asylum, or the agreement on European tax rules. Looking ahead to the next European legislature, José Manuel Albares considered the result of the forthcoming elections on 9 June to be "crucial".
The Fundación Alternativas is a centre for independent thought, discussion and the development of ideas to bring about political, economic, social and cultural change in Spanish and European society. Founded in 1997, its mission is to contribute to progressive theoretical and cultural thought and to help build bridges for dialogue and collaboration between diverse political and social groups.
