José Manuel Albares attended the G20 meeting in New Delhi on 9 and 10 September, together with Vice-President Nadia Calviño.
The G20 Summit took place across three working sessions, structured around three main themes: the preservation of biodiversity, the fight against climate change, energy transition and green development; inclusive growth, progress in achieving the SDGs, health and women's empowerment; and technological change, the future of employment and reforms of the multilateral system and the international financial architecture.
Spain's priorities in these areas are reflected in the Summit's Final Declaration. From greater ambition on gender equality to the need for the development of artificial intelligence to be people-centred and protect people's rights, the reproduction of the messages on migration that Spain has been defending for years at the G20 with a handful of like-minded countries, the importance of addressing the phenomena of drought and desertification, or the central role of decent work and adequate protection for platform workers.
