José Manuel Albares opened the High-Level Conference on Ageing at the Vello Cárcere cultural centre in Lugo. He was joined by the European Commission Vice-President for Democracy and Demography, Dubravka Šuica.
The conference, which addresses the challenge of ageing, was held as part of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and involved two different parts. The first focused on the longevity of the population and the demographic challenges in the European Agenda; and the second addressed issues such as the problems of care and its economic implications.
