Meeting of Development Ministers in Cadiz

On 4 and 5 September, the city of Cadiz hosted the meeting of European Development Ministers, who discussed how to give a renewed stimulus to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, highlighting the priorities of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU for development: From gender equality to support for the triple green, digital and social transition, and the new EU cooperation instruments.

Another issue discussed at the Cadiz meeting was the major financial reform of the Multilateral Development Banks - institutions that provide financial support for economic and social development activities in developing countries - such as the World Bank Group, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank Group and the African Development Bank.
