The minister attends the Foreign Affairs Council

The monthly meeting of the European Union foreign affairs ministers focused, amongst other matters, on the situation in Ukraine and on the latest developments in the Horn of Africa.

During his stay in the EU capital, José Manuel Albares attended a meeting with nine other EU ministers, including those of Germany, France and Italy, with the aim of moving forward with the proposal to adopt decisions on foreign policy matters by a qualified majority rather than by unanimity.

In addition, the head of Spanish diplomacy attended a lunch with the foreign ministers of the six countries that make up the Western Balkans region and held bilateral meetings with some of his European counterparts.
