EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meeting

José Manuel Albares participated in the informal meeting of the 27 European Union Foreign Affairs ministers, the first encounter of its kind to be held outside the territory of the EU.

In the Ukrainian capital, the head of Spanish diplomacy reiterated - on behalf of Spain and the Presidency of the Council of the EU - “support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in their defence of peace, freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity”, reaffirming “our commitment to the fight against impunity”. “We must not forget that we are in the capital of a country that has been massacred by barbarism and by Russia's illegal, unfair and unjustified aggression.”

Within the framework of the FAC meeting, Volodymir Zelenski, President of Ukraine, met with EU ministers and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
