PRESS RELEASE 006

Albares meets with the Israeli and Palestinian Ambassadors in Spain

February 12, 2024
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, held meetings this afternoon with the Israeli Ambassador to Spain, Rodica Radian-Gordon, and with the Palestinian Ambassador, Husni Abdel Wahed, in order to assess the situation in the Middle East.

The Minister has reiterated his request for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of the hostages and the entry of humanitarian aid, underlining his concern about the critical situation in Rafah.

During the meetings with the Ambassadors, Albares also underlined Spain's commitment to progress towards peace in the region based on the application of the two-State solution, giving continuity to the visits that the Foreign Minister has been making to the region.

These meetings follow last week's trip to the Gulf, during which he held meetings at the highest level in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and his visits to Lebanon and Iraq at the end of last month.
