Albares embarks today on his first bilateral trip during the office term, in Morocco

The Minister will meet tomorrow with his counterpart, Nasser Bourita, in Rabat, where he will be attending meetings with Spanish aid workers and businessmen

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, today embarks on the first official bilateral trip of the new office term, in Morocco. Albares' agenda in Rabat will be marked by political, economic, cultural and development cooperation relations.

The trip begins today in the Moroccan capital, where the minister plans to meet with a group of local Hispanists to gather their views on the cultural relations between the two countries. However, the busiest part of the agenda will take place tomorrow, Thursday 14 December, with the traditional visit and offering of gifts at the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.

These events will be followed by high-level meetings, including one with his counterpart Nasser Bourita, with whom he will have a bilateral meeting, in which the delegations of both countries will also participate, before their joint appearance before the media.

On Thursday morning, Albares will also visit the Spanish School in Rabat, where he will unveil the model of the future educational centre and will have the opportunity to meet with teachers and students. In the afternoon, he will meet with Spanish Cooperation agents in Morocco, with whom he will have the opportunity to review the work undertaken by Spain in providing aid to the victims of the recent earthquakes in the country.

The day's agenda will end with a business meeting at the Spanish Embassy Residence which will include the participation of the different business associations operating in the country, to whose members the Minister will address a few words.
