José Manuel Albares and Reyes Maroto analyse situation with Spanish companies operating in the impact zone of the war

​The Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, together with the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, held a meeting today with representatives of Spanish companies with interests in Russia and Ukraine to analyse the most immediate economic effects of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

A broad business representation took part in the meeting, held at the new headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed up by the President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations (Spanish acronym: CEOE), Antonio Garamendi, from those sectors that concentrate the presence of Spanish companies in Ukraine and Russia.

During the meeting, they shared the assessment on the impact that the conflict and the sanctions imposed on Russia for invading Ukraine may have on the Spanish presence and economic activity in the region, along with considerations on the effects on the European and global economy.
