Statement on presidential and legislative elections in Costa Rica

The Spanish Government congratulates Costa Rica's President-elect, Laura Fernández, and wishes her every success.

The Government also congratulates the Costa Rican people on the exemplary conduct of the electoral process, both in the presidential and legislative elections.

Spain will continue to promote its excellent relationship with Costa Rica, based on our deeply shared values and in favour of the well-being and prosperity of our peoples, both bilaterally and within the Ibero-American community.
