Statement on presidential elections in Peru

The Spanish Government congratulates Keiko Fujimori on her victory in the presidential elections in Peru, the results of which were officially announced today by the Plenary Session of Peru’s National Elections Board. ​

It also congratulates the Peruvian people on the conduct of the electoral process, which has been supported by the electoral observation missions of the European Union and the Organisation of American States of which Spain has been a part. 

The Spanish Government reaffirms its commitment to continuing to deepen the strategic relationship between our countries and to continuing to work together towards the construction of the Ibero-American space.​
