State visit by Their Majesties the King and Queen to the Arab Republic of Egypt, accompanied by Minister Albares

Their Majesties the King and Queen will make their first State visit to Egypt from 16 to 19 September, at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. They will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares.

 

This trip, which will include visits to the cities of Cairo and Luxor, is part of the excellent relations between the two countries, which were elevated to the level of a strategic partnership following President Al-Sisi's visit to Spain in February this year. It represents a favourable opportunity to continue strengthening the deep historical, political, economic, cultural, scientific, cooperative and human ties that exist between Egypt and Spain.

  

To this end, Their Majesties the King and Queen will be officially received by President Al Sisi and his wife at the Al-Ittihadiya Palace, where an official welcome ceremony will be held. They will also make a series of visits to Spanish economic, cultural and scientific projects in Cairo and Luxor, including archaeological sities. During the trip, the Egypt-Spain Business Forum will also be held to boost economic and trade relations between the two countries.
