Spain deplores the continued deterioration of human rights and political freedoms in Russia, and strongly condemns the sentencing of Russian opposition figure Vladimir Kara-Murza to 25 years in prison, and the wrongful detention of US journalist for the #WSJ Evan Gershkovich.
Spain calls once again for the liberation of all those unjustly imprisoned in Russia, and recalls its solidarity with human rights defenders and members of the democratic opposition who continue to be prosecuted and harassed by the Russian authorities.
