Extension of ceasefire in Yemen

Spain welcomes the announcement, on 2 June, of the extension of an additional two months of the ceasefire agreed between the parties in Yemen on 2 April.

Spain hopes that the ceasefire is consolidated, allowing greater access by the Yemeni people to humanitarian aid and that it particularly leads to the resumption of peace talks.

The Government of Spain reiterates its support for the efforts of the Special Envoy for Yemen of the Secretariat General of the United Nations, Hans Grundberg, to achieve a peaceful solution to the conflict, and to the constructive aid that the Gulf Cooperation States and other regional partners are providing.
