The jurisdiction of the Spanish Embassy in Jakarta, for which it has exclusive competence, covers Indonesia and East Timor.
The Spanish Embassy in Jakarta is the official representation of the Spanish State in its jurisdiction, as well as before the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which has its headquarters in Jakarta.
The Embassy has a Consular Section, which is the office open to the public where consular procedures are carried out, and the Embassy headquarters. For the purposes of the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, the Embassy also includes the other Spanish institutional offices present in its jurisdiction, namely the Economic and Commercial Office and the Defence and Interior Attachés.
The Embassy shall be responsible for all matters affecting Spanish nationals residing in Indonesia and East Timor, as well as for the official representation of the Kingdom of Spain before the Governments of Indonesia and East Timor.
