President Sánchez meets with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg

​The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, and the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, have met at the Moncloa Palace, in a meeting that was also attended by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares.

The meeting continued to discuss preparations for the upcoming NATO Summit. NATO Summit to be held in Madrid on 29 and 30 June. Spain, a country committed to the Alliance, is hosting this historic summit at a key moment in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. During the Summit, the 30 Allies will adopt NATO's new Strategic Concept, which will guide the organization's vision for the next 10 years.

Sánchez and Stoltenberg, who had already held several working meetings over the weekend, also discussed the NATO membership applications of Sweden and Finland, which have Spain's support. Both countries will attend the Summit at the invitation of our country.
