The certification of a copy of a document serves to attest that the original document has been duly compared with its copy and that both contain identical information.
The certification of document copies submitted together with applications, statements, or communications addressed to this Consular Office shall be provided free of charge. Once the certification has been carried out, the original document will be returned to the applicant, and the certified copy will be attached to the corresponding application, statement, or communication for onward transmission to the competent authority.
The certification of document copies not accompanying applications, statements, or communications submitted to this Consular Office shall be subject to the payment of the applicable fee.
Only copies of Spanish documents, or of foreign documents that are required to be presented before Spanish authorities, may be certified.
Procedure
To request the certification of a document copy, the applicant must present both the original document and a complete and legible copy thereof. Partial copies shall not be accepted under any circumstances.
