First of all, I would like to welcome you to this new website of our Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman, where you can find information that will undoubtedly be of interest to you in the different areas in which this Embassy provides its services.
It is a great honor for me to represent our country in the Sultanate of Oman, a benchmark and exemplary nation within the regional environment of which it is a part, which has a growing weight in the international sphere. From the responsibility that has been entrusted to me as Ambassador of Spain, my work is inspired by the desire to foster, develop and strengthen the already excellent relations between the two countries, joined by a sincere friendship, forged on mutual respect and esteem.
As the Diplomatic Representation of Spain in Oman, the work of this Embassy is aimed at creating the best possible climate between the two countries, promoting activities that highlight all those values and principles common to both nations and that contribute to increasing the presence of Spain in the Sultanate of Oman. We also work to promote relations of all kinds between Oman and the European Union.
In addition, the Embassy has a Consular Section dedicated to meeting the needs of Spanish citizens in all those administrative matters that they require, in addition to the issuance of visas or procedures that Omani citizens may require to travel to Spain.
The Embassy also has an Economic and Commercial Office dedicated to developing commercial promotion activities, within the framework of the policy of supporting the internationalization of Spanish companies already established in Oman or wishing to do so.

Curriculum Vitae of the Ambassador of Spain in the Sultanate of Oman,
Maria Luisa Huidobro Martin-Laborda,
Born in Madrid. She entered the Diplomatic Career in June 1990.
In the central services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, she has held the position of Associate Deputy Director General for the Middle East and Deputy Director General for Peacekeeping Operations.
Likewise, she has held various positions and responsibilities in the Secretary of State for the European Union and in the General Directorate of International Economic Relations.
She has been assigned to the Embassies of Spain in Ethiopia, Israel, the United States, at the Consulate General of Spain in New York, as Deputy Consul General and is currently Ambassador of Spain to the Sultanate of Oman, since August 2020.
