Inauguration of the partnership between the “New World International School" and the Spanish group SEK International School

The Ambassador of Spain participated in the opening ceremony of the partnership between the "New World International School" and the Spanish group SEK International School, the culmination of the signing of the collaboration agreement between the two parties on 15 June. The Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of Missión, in charge of Cultural Affairs. 

The signing of this agreement represents a further step in the strategy of this important Spanish educational group in the region, which began with the entry of the SEK Group thirteen years ago in Qatar.   

SEK International Schools: In the Gulf Region and in addition to the Muscat school that has been operating since this 2023-24 academic year, there are two others operating (Doha since 2011 and Riyadh since 2020). 

Assistants to the  event were Ms. Nieves Segovia, President of the SEK International Group and Mr. Alejandro Delso Segovia, Director of Innovation and Strategy of the SEK group, Amor Vieira, Director of the Center, on behalf of SEK group, and Naaman Al Naamani, representative of the school's property; and Biju Menon, senior partner and member of the Board of Directors of JEO Capital Investment. 

In her speech, the Ambassador of Spain highlighted this Spanish educational group background, a pioneer in the introduction of the International Baccalaureate Curriculum in Spain (IB), along with its presence in neighbouring countries, and the interest of this Embassy in Omani students, and students of other nationalities living in Oman, not only learn Spanish, but also become familiar with Spanish culture (through the presence of teachers,  exchanges, etc.). She stressed the opportunities that come with having such a third language.
