The Head of Mission congratulated the Secretary-General on his work and reaffirmed Spain's commitment to multilateralism and the organization's mission, highlighting the importance of making progress on reducing maritime transport emissions, protecting vital shipping lanes, and improving the safety and well-being of seafarers.
World Maritime Day takes place on last Thursday of September. This year's theme was "Navigating the future: safety first!", reflecting the importance of effectively implementing international maritime regulations.
