Ambassador Aparici learned about the work of CRIS Cancer, which conducts cancer research at centres in Spain, the United Kingdom, and France. Lola Manterola, the association's founder, and Marta Brime, president of the British division, reported on the projects and latest advances. Of particular note was the work of Dr Mariano Barbacid and his team, who have successfully eradicated pancreatic tumours in mice.
The Ambassador congratulated the Foundation on its work and offered the Embassy's support for awareness campaigns in the fight against this disease.
