The association's Chair—Zambia's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Macenje Mazoka—congratulated Ambassador Aparici, noting the association's goal: to increase the visibility of women in diplomacy and bolster their presence within the United Kingdom's diplomatic scope.
For her part, the head of the Spanish mission expressed her gratitude for the appointment and praised the work of the Women in Diplomacy Network (WIDN) in supporting female diplomats. "Our task is to ensure that the path is made easier for those who follow in our footsteps," emphasized Emma Aparici, who is the first woman to lead Spain's diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom.
The Women in Diplomacy Network is an association composed of female diplomats accredited to the United Kingdom; it promotes the visibility and leadership of women in diplomacy through various activities, meetings, and collaborations with British institutions.
