May 17, 2023

The document highlights the developments in Spain in terms of rights for the LGTBIQ+ community, although it warns of "the high rates of discrimination and violence experienced by many people due to their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or their sexual characteristics".

The Executive also reaffirms its involvement with this group, "both nationally and internationally", and undertakes to take advantage of the Presidency of the European Union, which will commence on 1st July, to adopt the necessary measures in order to progress in the eradication of the discrimination and attacks and acts of violence that LGTBI people continue to suffer.

On the occasion of the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, the Embassy hoisted a flag in honour of the LGTBIQ+ collective.
