The award was bestowed during the Embassy Education Conference, held at King’s College on the 7th July. The recipient was selected by diplomatic and educational missions accredited in the United Kingdom.

Fernando Bartolomé emphasised that the award "is, above all, a recognition of the work of an entire team and the commitment of all the individuals and institutions that make Spanish educational initiatives in the United Kingdom possible." The Spanish Education Office for the United Kingdom and Ireland has spearheaded initiatives aimed at expanding access to the Spanish language and culture and strengthening collaboration with British schools and universities, thereby consolidating new avenues for educational cooperation between the two countries.

This distinction also highlights the work of Spanish Educational Action—driven by the Unit for Educational Action Abroad (UAEE) of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports—which has for decades contributed to promoting the Spanish language, fostering educational cooperation, and raising the international profile of the Spanish education system.
