Dear friends, queridos amigos,
After four and a half years of representing Spain in the UK, it´s time to say goodbye and thank you.
It has been an incredible ride, I feel sad to leave, but I am taking with me so many friends and so many experiences to last me a lifetime.
Thank you for helping me make the most of my stay in this beautiful country, both personally and professionally, thank you for your generosity and kindness, and thank you for bringing our two countries closer together.
I have travelled all around the UK, and everywhere I have met wonderful people and everywhere I have found affection for Spain.
Our nation and the United Kingdom share many things, but above all, we are united by our people, by our friendship and our shared vision for the future. The one million Britons and Spaniards living in both countries, are the best cement for a relationship that has grown from strength to strength in the last few years. It has been an honour to be at your service.
Muchas gracias también a los españoles que vivís en el Reino Unido. Sois un gran ejemplo de responsabilidad, de cariño con el país que os acoge y de patriotismo para con España. Con vuestro esfuerzo hacéis progresar a ambos países. Ha sido un privilegio estar a vuestro servicio estos años. Creo que la relación entre los dos países atraviesa uno de sus mejores momentos y confío en que se haga incluso más fuerte en el futuro, gracias a vuestro talento y trabajo. Os deseo lo mejor y nunca os olvidaré.
