The event was attended by around six hundred guests, including prominent British political and civil society figures, as well as members of the Spanish community in the United Kingdom.
The Spanish Ambassador, José Pascual Marco, opened the event with a speech in which he showed his support for Israel and Spain's solidarity with the Jewish community. Likewise, he praised the historical ties between Spain and the United Kingdom and our excellent relations in international and security affairs, as demonstrated by our joint support for Ukraine. The Spanish representative stressed the close economic relations, the friendship between our Royal Families and the closeness of civil societies with a million British and Spanish people living and working in both countries.
Subsequently, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, Secretary of State of the British Foreign Department, highlighted the harmonious relations between Spain and the United Kingdom, expressing the commitment to remain united to face global challenges.
