The Embassy hosted the seventh edition of these awards granted by the Association of Spanish Scientists in the United Kingdom (SRUK/CERU) and the Santander Foundation.

Professor Susana García López and Doctor Nuria Tapia Ruiz were both awarded for their research in Chemical Engineering and Batteries. They presented their work, with which they intend to reduce the emissions of CO2 and contribute to a sustainable environment.

The awards symbolize the long scientific cooperation between Spain and the United Kingdom which, as the Ambassador mentioned, project one of the most productive areas of cooperation between our civil societies.

The President of the Association of Spanish Scientists in the United Kingdom, Dr. Claudia Román Montañana, spoke about the work of the organization, created in 2012, which already represents more than 700 Spanish researchers who work in a wide field of disciplines both in the public and private British sectors.

The President of the Santander Foundation, Rodrigo Echenique, highlighted the Foundation's work in promoting science and scientific talent, which in this case is reflected in the sponsorship of the Emerging Talent Award since 2016.
