Mr. Miguel de Lucas González
Appointed by Royal Decree 333/2026, of April 21, Ambassador of Spain to the Lebanese Republic.
He entered the Diplomatic Service in December 1993. His first posting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was in the Office of the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Ibero-America.
In 1994, he began a nine-year period abroad, starting in Nigeria, where he served as Deputy Head of Mission. He subsequently served as Embassy Secretary at the Embassy of Spain in Paraguay and as Deputy Head of Mission and Director of the Spanish Cultural Center in Cameroon.
In 2003, he returned to Spain, assuming the position of Head of Area for Southeast Asia, the Philippines, and the Pacific in the Directorate General for Foreign Policy for Asia.
In 2007, he joined the Sephardic Center as Director of International Relations; in 2009, he was promoted to Secretary General of the same institution. In 2013, he was appointed Director General of the Sephardic Center, a position he held for nine years until March 2022.
Between 2017 and 2022, he also served as Head of the Spanish Interministerial Delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pluralism and Coexistence Foundation.
In April 2022, he was appointed Ambassador of Spain to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
