Consul General

Greetings from the Consul General, Jesús Silva

The Consulate General of Spain in Cape Town, South Africa, through this website, wishes to provide the best possible service to Spanish citizens who need its assistance or help. We also hope that this website will be a useful tool for all those who are interested in learning more about our country, travel to Spain or Cape Town, or need our services.

Spain has had a consulate in Cape Town since the beginning of the 19th century. Many Spanish consuls (see list) have served in this consular jurisdiction, which currently covers the South African provinces of Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (the rest of the South African provinces are served from the consular section of the Embassy in Pretoria), as well as the islands of Mauritius, Madagascar and Comoros.

Our slogan is: Your Consulate Helps You. It is intended to be a declaration of principles: that the Spaniards of the consular jurisdiction feel that the consulate is theirs and that they help us to improve everything that can result in a more efficient and modern service.

Welcome to this website. Send us your comments, suggestions or doubts to cog.cabo@maec.es

Jesus Silva
