The first edition of the IAEA “International School on Nuclear Security” in Madrid opened officially on May 21st 2018.
The International School is organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) together with the CSN and the Spanish Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Home Affairs and Industry. The purpose of the School is to provide Spanish-speaking young professionals working at nuclear facilities and other relevant institutions with a basic understanding of nuclear security. Its curriculum covers a wide selection of nuclear security topics and illustrates, through the use of exercises and case studies, the application of nuclear security.
Through this initiative, Spain renews its national commitment to strengthening nuclear security regimes, enhancing a strong nuclear security culture globally, and reiterates its firm support to the central role of the IAEA in this field.
