The Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation Meets the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, in Rabat on the Margins of the World Policy Conference

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation was invited to participate in the World Policy Conference held in Rabat from 26 to 28 October, organised to discuss the main challenges facing the international community.

As part of this conference, yesterday Saturday 27 October, Minister Josep Borrell held a meeting with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita.

The ministers reviewed the evolution of the main topics of interest for both countries, reaffirming their commitment to continue to deepen the excellent relations between Spain and Morocco and their strategic nature.

They agreed on the need to boost the Euro-Mediterranean partnership and to work together to intensify the relations between the EU and Morocco and between Europe and Africa. They also exchanged opinions on regional issues, such as the crisis in Libya and Syria as well as the question of the Western Sahara.

The ministers agreed to continue advancing in migratory cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally, on the principle of shared responsibility, especially in view of the United Nations Intergovernmental Conference to Adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, which will take place in Marrakesh this December.
