As set out in said resolution, Spain considers the settlements on territories occupied by Israel since 1967 to have no legal validity and they constitute a flagrant violation of international law. They are, moreover, an obstacle to a negotiated two-state solution and the prospects of achieving a just and lasting peace that meets the legitimate aspirations of both parties.
For this reason, the Spanish Government calls for an end to the settlements in line with that statement of the High Representative of the European Union.
