Cristóbal González-Aller Jurado is the Under-secretary for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. Born on 5 September 1955 in Aguilar de la Frontera (Córdoba), he holds a Law degree and joined the Diplomatic Service in 1981. He has worked in the Spanish diplomatic representation offices in Zaire, Germany and Luxembourg. He has previously held the posts of Assistant Deputy Director-General for Personnel; Deputy Director-General for Interministerial Affairs and Coordination of the European Union; and Director-General for Coordination of the Internal Market and other EU Policies. In February 2003, he was appointed Deputy Permanent Representative of Spain to the European Union in Brussels. Prior to his appointment as Under-secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, he was the Spanish Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey.
