Dr. Marjorie Myers, current Principal of one of the pioneer schools in Spanish teaching (Francis Scott Key School) in the U.S., was bestowed with The Officer’s Cross of the Order of Isabel la Católica in a ceremony hosted by Ambassador Pedro Morenés.
In his remarks, Ambassador Morenés highlighted that the Officer’s Cross is an honor awarded to those who "have made an extraordinary contribution to the relationship of friendship and cooperation between Spain and the American community."
The Ambassador underlined that Mrs. Myers has well proven this by "dedicating her professional career to educating new passionate Spanish teachers, creating and boosting high quality bilingual learning centers in the U.S." She also represents a "fundamental pillar that supports visiting professor and language assistant programs in the U.S. and Spain," among other achievements.
Mrs. Myers' exceptional contribution to the promotion of the Spanish language in the U.S. has had a tremendous impact on the lives of hundreds of students, strengthening Spain-U.S. relations in the process.
