Ambassador Morenés Visits Florida

Ambassador Pedro Morenés visited the State of Florida during the days 20th and 21st of February, accompanied by the Consul General of Spain in Miami, Cándido Creis. The visit highlighted the impact of Spanish talent and investment in this important southern state of the U.S., which maintains deep cultural and historical ties with our country. In this sense, the relevance of education is essential.

On February 21st, the Ambassador visited the capital city, Miami. He held a meeting at the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in the city with young Spanish entrepreneurs from very diverse sectors such as fashion, transport logistics, sports companies, creating online content, technology, prosthetic and software.

Afterwards, he visited Ada Merritt K-8 School, one of the seven public system schools in Miami Dade County that are part of the Spanish section of the International Studies Program, an educational program agreement between the Miami-Dade school district and the educational authorities of several countries, among which Spain's Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports has a substantial role. The students who pursue this section receive not only education bilingual in Spanish and English, but also curricular contents of Spain.

Amb. Morenés also attended the Financial Center Sabadell, where he signed a finance agreement between the Institute of Official Credit (ICO) and Banco Sabadell Miami Branch, which aims to promote the expansion of companies with Spanish interest in the U.S. and Latin America. In the afternoon, Amb. Morenés granted several decorations at the official residence of the Spanish Consul in Miami.
