The European Union focuses much of its research and innovation in the Framework Program, which in this issue will be called Horizon 2020. For the period 2014-2020 and by implementing three pillars, helps address major societal challenges, promote industrial leadership in Europe and strengthen the excellence of its scientific basis. The available budget amount is 76,880 M €.
The design of the Horizon 2020 has coincided with the development of the State Plan for Scientific and Technological Research and Innovation in Spain, matching the research priorities at European and Spanish level.
The State Plan has a clear international orientation, reflected in its structure and in close alignment with the objectives in R & D set in Horizon 2020. The ultimate goal is to promote the scientific, technological and business leadership of our System to international markets and increase the participation of Spanish companies and institutions in community initiatives and programs of the European Union.
