The Attorney-General came to Israel in an official visit, and was accompanied by the Head of the State Prosecution Office at the National Court, Javier Zaragoza, and by the Head of the Technical Office of the Attorney-General, Jaime Moreno. The Attorney-General met with his Israeli counterpart, Yehuda Weinstein. Torres-Dulce also held meetings with the Supreme Court Justice Daphna Barak-Erez, as well as at the Office of the Public Defenders of the Ministry of Justice, the Herzliya International Center for Counter-Terrorism, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also visited the Holocaust Museum Yad Vashem.
The meeting with the Attorney-General of Israel helped to exchange experiences and information about both legal systems. A working group of senior officials from both institutions will be created as a follow-up of the meeting and to develop bilateral cooperation. Illegal immigration and human trafficking, cyber-crime and fight against terrorism were among the issues of common interest discussed.
This visit aims at strengthening and enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation in the legal and judicial fields.
