COVID-19: TRAVEL INFORMATION ON ENTRY TO SPAIN

This is general information for citizens that travel to Spain from Norway or Iceland from 23 November 2020 onwards.

For specific information regarding particular trips please contact tour operators, airline companies and follow local regulations.

European Union (EU) citizens and citizens from the Schengen area, including Norwegian and Icelandic citizens will be able to enter Spain without having to stay in quarantine. These measures would also apply for citizens from the United Kingdom (UK).

Travelers are personally responsible to follow and update themselves on Spanish local regulations concerning Covid-19.


HEALTH CHECK FORM UPON ARRIVAL IN SPAIN

If you travel to Spain you must fill out the Spanish Directorate of Health health form: http://www.spth.gob.es

This can be done also on with the app "Spain Travel Health-spth".

Once you have completed the form you get a QR-code which has to be shown to border control upon arrival in Spain.

The form is individually and mandatory for each person, regardless of nationality and age. Groups and families can complete a specific form. More information on the following link: https://www.spth.gob.es


NEGATIVE PCR TEST REQUIRED FOR PASSENGERS FROM HIGH-RISK COUNTRIES

Passengers entering through airports and ports, regardless their nationality, travelling from high-risk countries or zones from 23 November 2020 are also required to present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to their arrival to Spain. Children under 6 years old are exempted from this requirement.

The list of high-risk countries or zones is revised every 15 days and can be verified on the Spanish Directorate of Health’s website https://www.mscbs.gob.es or on the web SpTH https://www.spth.gob.es

The revision of the list of high-risk countries or zones will be effective after 7 days after its publication.

The PCR test certificate needs to comply with the following requirements to be valid:

  • It has to be original: on paper or electronic version.  Copies will not be accepted.
  • It has to be written in Spanish, English, German or French. In the event that it cannot be obtained in these languages, the document must be accompanied by a translation into Spanish carried out by an official body.
  • The document has to contain at least Passengers’ name, passport number or ID card (it has to be the same used at the Health Form described above).
  • Date of the test.
  • Name and contact details of the laboratory.
  • Test technic: it has to be PCR.
  • Negative PCR test result.


Passengers could be requested to present the negative PCR test at any time by during border control.

If the negative PCR test certificate is not valid or is not presented, passengers will have to undertake an antigene test at border and will also have to pay a fine.


International travelers from risk countries can also prove a negative diagnosis of active infection by Covid-19 with a transcription-mediated amplification test carried out 72 hours before arrival.
