The Embassy of Spain in India participated once again in the St+art Festival, organized by the St+Art Foundation to promote art in public spaces in order to make it more accessible to the people that inhabit those spaces. Since its creation, the foundation has sought to be a confluence platform between national and international artists through numerous street art festivals in public spaces in main Indian cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Panaji, or Coimbatore.
In January 2020 Spanish muralist Elisa Capdevilla took part in the Dharavi Art District in Mumbai, where she worked for several weeks on a mural, as well as in different training activities with the local population in one of the largest slums in India and the world.
On February 29th, the Embassy of Spain in India attended the inauguration of the new Art District that the St+art Foundation has developed in the Kannagi Nagar Slum in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Spanish artist Antonyo Marest presented a colourful mural on the occasion.
