​Lodging of the application
The issuance of a Schengen Visa must occur in the Consulate or Embassy of the country which is considered your main destination, as determined by the purpose of your trip and the length of stay. 
The Schengen states are as follows: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxemburg, Norway, The Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Hungary, Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Malta.
If the majority of the duration of your stay will be in Spain, you can lodge your application at the Visa Application Centre operated by BLS. This service is available to all nationals who are resident in Kenya or South Sudan and wish to apply for a Schengen visa to Spain. For resident permits and visas exceeding 90 days please lodge your applications directly at the Embassy of Spain.
No application will be accepted without prior appointment. You can make an appointment through the Visa Application Centre websiteThe Visa Application Centre is located at:

  Corner of Peponi Road and Eldama Ravine Road

The following applicants can lodge their applications directly at the Embassy of Spain (9:00 am-2:00 pm) without prior appointment:

  • Family dependants of Spanish or EU/EEA/Switzerland citizens. Marriage has to be proven by a Spanish or European certificate (Kenyan certificate not accepted).
  • Holders of Diplomatic, Official or Service passports on official duty.

Travel visas are a privilege, not a right and are issued at the sole discretion of Schengen Authorities. This Embassy has full authority to evaluate, refuse and/or request additional documentation at any time.

​The service provided by the Visa Application Center aims to deliver a better service within the shortest time possible. This service incurs a fee which has to be added to the visa fee. In addition, the Visa Application Center will provide permanent assistance in the process, offering additional information you might need. 
Processing time
It is recommended that you plan your trip well in advance with sufficient time to schedule for an appointment and to process your visa application. To check the status of your visa, please contact the Visa Application Center. The Embassy will not answer any question regarding your application during the whole process.
Please, note that the Visa Application Center is not involved in the decision-making process and cannot influence the decision on your visa application. Only the Embassy of Spain is entitled to receive your application form and supporting documents and to accept or reject your application.
